I’ve started to set my alarm clock for earlier as I spend too much time just reading on my phone in the morning to try to wake myself up and then I feel rushed to get ready for my day (exercise, shower, eat breakfast etc.) I woke up before my alarm, which I think was because of the rain being so loud. I felt really tired and it took a while for my eyes to open properly. I usually feel like this after sleeping when I am aware that I am dreaming and I had at least 2 dreams last night.
The first was I was in a photo bookshop (owned by a well-known publishing company that I won’t mention as I don’t know why it was theirs in particular and it was an imagined shop). I was looking at a book and it had an artist in it who I ‘always forget the name of’. This artist was imagined and the work was quite sculptural and based off of an Instagram picture I saw yesterday, I believe. So I was taking a picture of the name and I hear a woman saying ‘no no’ (I think this was based on the guy I helped yesterday) and walking towards me. I pretended I couldn’t hear her and carried on taking a picture of the name until she was stood next to me and told me off. This is probably based on when I go to art fairs and galleries and take pictures of names and feel awkward. I usually just write them into my phone now. Then I went to tell my friend who was stood by the door and I complained about it.
In the second I was in India trying to find people for my project. It was supposed to be India but it wasn’t (you know how dreams are). Somehow we managed to walk across most of India in a day (I was with at least 1 other person but I don’t remember who they were/who they were supposed to represent). We were sitting by a pond chatting to 2 women and I was getting nervous as I felt like we really needed to get to The Punjab, as it was so far away (yet in the dream we had crossed so far by foot in so little time). Anyways a car then fell into the pond. It was smaller than real life which I was aware of in the dream, but it must have been a lot smaller still as I kept it afloat with my knee whilst I pulled the driver’s door open as I could only see one person in the car. I turned the car around and the driver flew out and half slumped on the side of the pond and half in the water with their head underwater. I clambered up the side to go around to get their head out of the water by which point they were completely in the water holding their nose. For some reason I didn’t jump in again as I thought if they were holding their nose they must be fine? So I went back to my conversation and later I saw them walking and we waved at each other. I’m guessing this is to do with helping the guy too?
