The weather said it was going to be really hot so I decided it was time to bare my legs for the first time this year in the UK. This meant I had to shave my legs a bit more and get rid of the growth from a couple of days ago, as I don’t want people to look at my legs and think or say something about the hair…
So I’m wearing a skirt, but I always wear shorts underneath as I usually walk up the escalators and I don’t want to flash my pants to anyone. Even people seeing the shorts would make me feel uncomfortable as they might think that I am weird for wearing shorts underneath but it is something that I have done since I was in middle school.
I remember the girls getting called into one room to say that some of the teachers had complained that girls weren’t keeping their legs closed under the desk and it was making them uncomfortable. I’m pretty sure I was already wearing shorts underneath at this point. I was growing out of my gym skirt but didn’t have long left at school and we were supposed to wear gym knickers but I really didn’t like them. I used to get told off for wearing shorts underneath my gym skirt.
When I was in Italy 4 years ago printing my book I was walking behind some older men who were relaxing and taking their time. I walked faster to overtake them and then my dress was blown up by the wind. I was wearing shorts underneath luckily but they still giggled. I giggled back even though I was super embarrassed and just wanted to get away from the situation.
I’m on the way to the Black Country to work on my project and my favourite seat on the train are the ones where there is only one seat so I don’t have to deal with any awkward situations of the 2 seaters. There are usually 2 and they face each other and I had not planned a scenario in my head of wearing my skirt and facing someone else. A guy sat down opposite so I am sat awkwardly slightly to one side so that mentally I can relax more, but physically it is uncomfortable.
